Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell were both killed in 2019. Daybell and Vallow are in prison in Idaho for the first-degree murders of Tylee and JJ, the children of Daybell, and the deaths of their former partners. The two will go to court later this year. Around September 2019, the kids disappeared out of the blue, and only two people said they knew where they were. In June 2020, the police found evidence that led them to Daybell’s home in Rexburg, Idaho. There were two shallow graves found. They belonged to JJ and Tylee.

Tammy Daybell, Chad’s first wife, died a few weeks before he married Lori. Even though it looked like she died of natural causes, officials thought her husband was to blame. An autopsy showed that the person died of suffocation, which backs up their fears.
2019 events
Lori Vallow met Chad Daybell in 2018. She was already married to Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell at the time. Lori’s friends said she liked his work and got along well when they first met. In late October 2019, they got married. In the time between, both their partners and Lori’s children died.
There was a threat to Charles Vallow and his children. Police got calls about his wife’s strange behaviour and death threats. Alex Cox, Lori Vallow’s brother, killed him in July 2019. Cox said he killed Charles in self-defence and because Charles was hurting his sister. Reports say the killing was planned and took place in front of Tylee.
In September, Lori moved closer to Chad Daybell of Rexburg. Tylee Ryan went missing on September 8, and Lori’s friend Melanie Gibb said that Tylee’s mother called her a “zombie.” On September 22, JJ Vallow went missing, and on October 19, Tammy Daybell died in her bed.
When Chad Daybell married Lori Vallow on November 5, just a few weeks after his wife died, people started to be suspicious. Kay Woodcock, JJ’s grandmother and Charles’ sister, called the police on November 26 when she couldn’t reach her grandson.
Chad Daybell was eventually caught
Tylee and her younger brother had been missing for a long time, so the police started looking for them worldwide. Cox died in December of that year, so he was the only person who might have known about the disappearances. He only left behind his phone.
In June 2020, the dead person’s phone led police to Chad Daybell’s garden, where the shallow graves of the two children were found. Lori was arrested in February because she wouldn’t say where her children were. In May 2021, they were charged with first-degree murder for killing Tylee and JJ. Chad was later charged with killing his first wife.
Lori was accused of planning to kill Charles Vallow in June. In court, Chad denied the charges. The first person was found too mentally ill to stand trial, so she was sent to a mental health facility while her case was being heard. In April 2022, it was decided that she was mentally fit to stand trial. She didn’t want to beg.
