Tonight, Lifetime broadcast the premiere of Married at First Sight: Boston Reunion. The couples from the season returned to the program five months after the decision day featured in the episode. Alyssa Ellman and Chris Collette, a couple who were married on MAFS but departed ten days later, also showed out at the reunion. They didn’t even sleep in the same bed on their wedding night, much alone spend time together on their honeymoon. Alyssa spoke about the difficulties of her brief marriage at the Married at First Sight reunion. She said she came to the show sincerely but that she and Chris were not a good match.
Some viewers questioned Alyssa’s presence on the show and criticized her for trying to justify her mistakes. Season 14 of Married at First Sight, featured five sets of Bostonians who tied the knot without seeing one other. A couple got a divorce early, so now there are just four surviving couples. Kevin Frazier, the host, inquired about the couple’s decision to divorce only 12 days after their wedding. He probed Lindsey Georgoulis for insight into the quick union as well. When Lindsey’s marriage failed, she placed the blame on Alyssa. At the same time, Olajuwon Dickerson thought they had given up too soon on their marriage.
Alyssa regretted her laziness and promised to do more in the future. She said she had given up on the marriage early on because she knew it was doomed. She continued by saying that she had no ulterior motives for being on the program. Alyssa said that she and Chris do not have the same fundamental beliefs. She is certain that her marriage would not have improved without the help of a professional.
Moreover, Chris said that Alyssa spent more time participating in group activities on their honeymoon than she did, focusing on the two individually. They believed that Alyssa was trying to present herself in a positive light by fabricating a backstory. Several viewers questioned the fact that she even appeared in the reunion broadcast.

The amount of time spent on the program by Alyssa and Chris was minimal. It was clear that Alyssa had no romantic interest in Chris. The happy couple sat apart on the aircraft and the bus for their honeymoon. Alyssa went as far as comparing Chris to a used-car salesperson. The couple was only together for ten days in total. On the broadcast, the couple aired their problems to Pastor Cal. Chris remarked this after learning that Alyssa had zero interest in him. He wrote a confessional about his brief marriage.
